Kris Moore’s poncho cowl can be worn as a poncho, a cape, a hood or just a cowl, so it is the most versatile of the seven. It uses three buttons of 1 to 1½ inches and contrasting colors, and she says if the pattern seems too loose you can go up or down a hook size and add more rows, or add to the base chain in a multiple of two. Donna Browne’s Rainbow Drops poncho comes in sizes from newborn to large adult, with or without a hood.
