Ten sunflower crochet motifs, each from a different designer, each linking to that designer’s own free pattern. Most are worked as a small applique: string one on a cord for a single-flower bracelet, or join a few for a chain of sunflowers.

1. Blosfome (Ribblr) – Sunflower Bracelet + Ring
Blosfome’s sunflower is written as an actual bracelet and ring, not just a flower motif, and it can be made to any size or length. It is a beginner pattern hosted on Ribblr as a free interactive ePattern, and she says it also works as a bracelet or headband for an amigurumi. The two reviews are both positive.

2. Little Treasures – Crochet Sunflower
This is the smallest sunflower on the list. Little Treasures first tried embroidery thread but the flowers came out too tiny, so she used all six strands of embroidery floss, brown for the center and yellow for the petals, with a 1.9 mm hook. It is a center of 5 half double crochets, a round of single crochet, then six petals, so it is really fast, and she suggests making a whole bunch.

3. Stitch by Fay – Sunflower Applique
Fay’s sunflower finishes at about 2 by 2 inches, worked in Paintbox Cotton DK in brown and yellow on a 2.5 mm hook, and it has a video. She says gauge is not important, but a different yarn or hook will change both the size and the look, so if you want it bigger, go up a yarn weight and a hook size.

4. Annie Design Crochet – Crochet Sunflower Applique
This is worked in the round from a magic ring with DK yarn in yellow, orange and brown on a 4 mm hook, and the petals use popcorn stitches for texture. Carmen gives the beginning popcorn stitch as a special stitch, so you will need to be comfortable with it. The finished flower is about 3.5 inches across, and any yarn weight works with a matching hook.

5. The Pink Craft Box – Crochet Sunflower Applique
This one comes with its own leaves. You use worsted weight yarn in brown for the center, yellow for the petals and green for the leaves, on a 2.5 mm hook, and with the leaves it measures about 11 cm wide. There is a full video tutorial, step by step photos and a printable version, so it is one of the easiest to follow.

6. Simply Made by Erin – Crochet Sunflower Appliqué
Erin holds two strands of worsted yarn together on a 5 mm hook, and she gives yardage: about 6 yards for the center, 13 for the petals and 8 for the leaves. She designed it to go with her towel toppers, so there is an optional button for the center. She recommends cotton for kitchen items and says you can change the size by changing yarn and hook.

7. Moms and Crafters – Crochet Sunflowers
A very simple one. It starts with a brown magic ring and 16 double crochets, then adds the petals, in light or medium weight yarn on a 3.5 mm hook. It has a printable version and three 5 star reviews, and the designer suggests it for appliqués and hair accessories.

8. A Little Love Everyday – Crochet Sunflower
This is the only stuffed one. You make two flower centers, work in continuous rounds with picot edging on the petals, and fill it with polyester fiberfill, so it ends up 3D. It uses DK cotton in brown, yellow and green on a 3 mm hook. Anitha says it is quick to make.

9. The Caffeinated Snail – Crochet Sunflower Keychain
The Caffeinated Snail designed this keychain for all skill levels, including beginners, and it uses scrap yarn, so you do not need to buy anything. The page has expert tips and a pattern FAQ if you get stuck. Because it is small, the same flower can be sewn onto a bracelet cord instead of a keyring.

10. Katie Being Creative – Sunflower Crochet Pattern
Katie made this sunflower in weight 4 cotton (I Love This Cotton) on a 3.75 mm hook, starting from a magic ring, with treble stitches for the petals. She designed it as a keychain or car hanger. An ad-free printable PDF is sold on her Etsy shop, and she allows you to sell items you make from the pattern, but not the pattern itself.
