Crochet Daisy Patterns: 7 Free Designs

Three credited free crochet daisy patterns from original designers.

A crochet daisy can be a single flat flower, a full stem with buds and leaves, or a tiny applique sized for a headband. These seven patterns range from a 12 petal arrangement down to a 10 minute mini version, so petal count and finished size are the two things to compare first.

These are small enough that a fine hook and a yarn needle for attaching petals are genuinely all you need.

Daisy patterns to explore

1. Crochet Daisy

Hookok offers an advanced intermediate pattern covering flowers, buds, leaves, and assembly. Each flower has 12 petals, and building the full stem with buds and leaves makes this the most involved project on this list rather than a single quick motif. It’s worked in cotton yarn on a small 2-2.5mm hook.

2. Crochet Daisy Flower

Carmen at Annie Design Crochet uses nine petals around a single crochet center. In sport weight yarn, the flower measures about 3.5 inches across, a size that works well as a single applique or scattered across a larger project. It’s made on a 3.5mm hook — Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6 in the sample.

3. Crochet Daisy Flower

Roseanna at Moara Crochet makes a lace weight yarn daisy about four centimeters across, with a wire stem and ten petals. The wire stem lets the finished flower hold its shape and bend like a real stem, unlike the flat appliques elsewhere on this list. It calls for a very fine 1.75mm hook, the smallest of any pattern here, to keep the lace-weight stitches tight.

4. Teeny Tiny Daisy

Jane at Jenny & Teddy keeps this one to just 5 petals on a 3.5mm hook, finishing in about 10 to 15 minutes. It’s the fastest and smallest daisy on this list, sized for appliques rather than a full stem.

5. An Easy Daisy in Two Sizes

Brittany at Just Be Crafty writes this one pattern for two sizes: a 6 petal, 2.75 inch version on a 4.5 mm hook, or an 8 petal, 3.5 inch version on a 5.5 mm hook, both in worsted acrylic.

6. Daisy Applique

Olena at GoldenLucyCrafts works 12 petals in medium weight yarn on a 3.5 mm hook for a 4.5 inch flower, rated intermediate despite the small finished size, close in scale to Hookok’s version but built as a single flat applique rather than a full stem.

7. Crochet Daisy Bouquet

Eleonora Tulley at Simply Yarn also builds a twelve-petal flower, but scales it up to 4.5 inches across on a 2.5mm hook with 4ply cotton, then wires seven of them into stems for a full bouquet rather than leaving them as single motifs.
